Online continues to accelerate, growing ten times faster than traditional channels. Over 80% of all purchasing decisions are influenced by digital today. By 2020, 10% of Spirits and Beer sales will be online in the European market.

As an eCommerce team in Europe we are responsible for driving and influencing every online sale of our brands either directly through accounts such as Amazon, or indirectly with our account teams in Grocery, RTM and Ontrade. Our purpose as a team is to embed eCommerce into the DNA of the business, delivering accelerated growth by being relevant to today’s digital shoppers in key moments. In order to achieve this, we must be the BEST at catering to the needs of consumers and shoppers that live online.

The Job
The European eCommerce team is the lead market globally. In this role you will be working closely together with the eCommerce Shopper Planning Manager, Europe eCommerce Customer Marketing and eCommerce Commercial team.

You will help drive actionable shopper, consumer customer and market insight to support the team in developing strong strategies and brilliant online execution, in service of achieving the eCommerce performance ambitions.

GEOGRAPHY – all countries in Europe with a focus on GB, Germany & Austria, Iberia, France and Benelux
CRITICAL STAKEHOLDERS – customer eCommerce managers across Europe, in-country DIAGEO commercial teams
KEY BUSINESS PARTNERS – European eCommerce Customer Marketing team.

Core deliverables

ACTIONABLE INSIGHT– Support the eCommerce Shopper Planning manager in research and insight projects from start to finish – including project management and reporting. Support the team on customer meetings and customer strategy development with actionable shopper and market insights
MARKETING PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: responsible for understanding our brands’ performance in the ‘digital shelf’ and support on measurement and evaluation of customer marketing campaigns. Uncover key learnings and put together ‘best practice’
MARKET AND COMPETITOR UNDERSTANDING: keep up to date and collate key online market and category insights and trends, as well as competitor activity to inform business decisions
MOBILISE THE BUSINESS – integrate & partner with different countries and functions to develop and implement opportunities that unlocks near-term and longer-term growth for our customers and ourselves
BE AN AMBASSADOR – drive a call to action across the wider business with PASSION, ENERGY & TENACITY

Key Requirements
LANGUAGES: English (fluent). German or Spanish a plus
IT: Highly experienced in Microsoft Office, in particular PowerPoint, Excel

Preferred Skills
  • RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Preferably 2-3 years of market research experience, senior research executive or similar. (quantitative). Focus on category, retail shopper or digital marketing would be ideal. Strong project management and analytical skills, with the ability to provide valuable and actionable insights; and present complex data clearly and incisively. Attention to detail is a must for this role
