Description

We have a great opportunity for a Research Associate to work within this fast growing division of German-based GfK Group, which is a €1.5+ billion company with 12,000+ employees working in over 100 countries; GfK is the world's largest provider of point-of-sale (POS) data and has extensive proprietary data operations. GfK Boutique Research provides quantitative and qualitative research to industry clients as well as financial clients investing in companies of the Telecom, Consumer Electronics and Information Technologies sectors. GfK point-of-sale data is the core of our research; to provide relevant and differentiated analyses for institutional investors. Being a small and growth-focused team offers the opportunity to evolve in a dynamic environment. GfK Boutique Research team members are located in offices in the USA, UK, Hong Kong, Taipei and Japan.

The team provides research on a growing number of technology sectors. The quantitative research we provide mostly consists of monitoring performances of tech companies by tracking market shares, volume growth, segment trends and ASP (average selling price) movements. On top of this GfK provides unique thematic research thanks to our ability to leverage GfK's proprietary POS data. We regularly update our clients on the market dynamics via emails which include analytical notes and excel deliverables as well as via telephone and in-person briefings.
This is an excellent, challenging and rewarding assignment. The successful candidate will be comfortable focusing on specific topics, generating ideas for the on-going research and adapting his/her research based on wireless industry. The assignment requires top-rate analysis skills, problem solving aptitude, intellectual rigor as well as self-motivation. We value ingenuity, simplicity, and dedication to the achievement of team objectives.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Work with Boutique's internal forecasting team to build country and regional forecasts, leveraging GfK's POS data asset
  • Maintain and build a network of GfK colleagues around the world and use this to leverage local knowledge to optimize forecasts
