Summary:We are seeking a Research Associate to join the Velocimmune Next Group of Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc. in Tarrytown, NY. The successful candidate will support on-going research initiatives towards generating, characterizing, and optimizing novel genetically engineered mouse models, as well as develop and advance novel technologies. Ideal candidates should have solid knowledge in immunology and genetics, as well as lab experience in molecular biology.


In order to characterize new and existing VelocImmune Next mouse models, successful candidate need to:


  • Properly handle and care of mice, perform general immunization and surgical techniques, and collect blood and tissue samples.
  • Utilize in vitro system, including cell culture (both primary cells and established cell lines), DNA/protein transfection or viral transduction.
  • Be familiar with bio-assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, and Western blotting.
  • Analyze data using biological and statistical softwares, such as Flowjo, MacVector, Sequencher, Prism, etc; generate experimental reports; make suggestions leading to potential improvements; design new experiments.
  • Besides, successful candidates should also be able to Integrate novel technologies to increase work efficiency; optimize current protocols and develop new techniques.
  • Document experimental procedures and results in a well-organized fashion; present working progress at group and department meetings; contribute in drafting of protocols, method development reports, and research articles.
  • Initiate and maintain collaboration within and outside the group.

  • This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, with 2-5 years of relevant research lab experience, Master degree is preferable.
Preferred Skills
  • Candidate should have a strong passion in biological science and technology, and is willingness to follow advances in the space and learn new techniques at all times.
  • Candidate should be highly proficient in Immunology principles and technologies, including innate and adaptive immunology, lymphocyte and myeloid cell development and activation, complement system regulation and function, VDJ recombination, antibody affinity/avidity/specificity, etc
  • Candidate should have a solid understanding of genetics and molecular biology. Experience in wet-lab molecular biology, cell culture and cell based immunoassays.
  • Candidate should have basic computer skills including using Microsoft office, Pubmed, and Genbank. Candidate should be able to keep full experimental record in a timely and well-organized fashion. Candidate should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
