CLEAResult’s Market Research and Intelligence team is looking for a Senior Data Analyst that will support the portfolio and marketing strategies of CLEAResult by conducting research and analysis that informs critical business decisions necessary for CLEAResult and our clients to achieve our goals and strengthen our market-leading position.

We are looking for inquisitive and enthusiastic employees to join our team of energy industry aficionados, who not only enjoy conducting analytics but also care about the rationale behind the research and how results can be applied. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a challenge, relishes learning new things, and is excited to work with cross functional teams of engineers, statisticians, and marketers.

Our ideal senior data analyst brings a solid quantitative background coupled with robust programming skills, including data management, aggregation and cleaning, statistical modeling, and the ability to interpret results to deliver products that our clients need. This individual develops relationships with business partners, performs creative analytics and research to develop compelling recommendations, and is an integral part of the cross-functional team. This individual possesses strong interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills, has demonstrated the ability to inspire cross-functional collaboration and enjoys being a catalyst of data-driven decisions.

In addition the individual also has basic knowledge of qualitative (IDI’s, focus groups, ethnography) and quantitative research methodologies (questionnaire design, conjoint, DCM). This individual has strong presentation and communication skills and can provide the business context of his/her results when presenting to internal teams, executives and clients.

This position can be based in either our Austin, TX, Westborough, MA, or Portland, OR office.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop an understanding of the marketplace, identifying market trends and growth opportunities, diagnose customer needs and behaviors, predict likely competitive dynamics, and analyze the economics of the business
  • Lead key business analytics efforts (eg. Buyer Propensity modeling, predictive analytics, segmentation) working closely with clients and business partners.
  • Ensure that all business analytics projects are appropriately scaled and scoped, to meet client goals and objectives.
  • Assist in providing client management within and across clients on existing and new market research projects to deliver industry leading & client-focused solutions.
  • Synthesizes and provides appropriate business and market context for all research; and presents all research to internal teams, executives and clients.
  • Conduct market and product opportunity assessments, research to inform market specification and product design decisions, pricing research, and strategy formulation
  • Support the Marketing Research and Intelligence team in decision-making by ensuring that robust product/market research is conducted to meet client goals
  • Help develop and launch existing and new market research & analytics services to meet our clients’ needs.
  • Help develop ROI models around market research services and associated improvement projects.
  • Develop new research and modeling methodologies into core capabilities (e.g. ethnography)
  • Develop our preferred vendor list and innovate our research & modeling methodologies by exploring research vendors that have expertise in energy efficiency and offer high quality support
  • Support competitive intelligence activities through proficiency in collecting and analyzing market and competitor information.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to ensure research is clearly linked to strategy, and creatively developed with overall strategy in-mind.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on-time, on-spec and on-budget by working closely with internal and external key stakeholders.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor degree required preferably in statistics, econometrics or related field Masters preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in collecting, cleaning & managing data sets and conduct statistical modeling for/with regulated, private sector and services industry clients.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong client management skills and experience effectively engaging clients at initial contract, proposal development, project management, reporting, and maintaining ongoing relationship.
  • Superior analytical skills, as demonstrated by a track record of thought leadership and problem solving activities, preferably within a consulting and/or research environment
  • Excellent oral communications, writing and presentation skills, and a deep interest in developing insights and pragmatic research solutions for top executives grappling with strategic decisions and other business issues
  • Proficiency with a statistical package
  • Proficiency with Alteryx, is a plus
  • Proficiency with GIS
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, SPSS, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix organization
